Screamo and other fun things.

At approximately 12:00 AM on the morning of May 29, 2006, Brad Halbersma has finally figured out how to scream sing. And indeed, he was very happy. But he did not give all the credit to himself. As he pulled out of the parking lot driving home from an intense game of lazer tag, he screamed in the air "I LOVE YOU GOD!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!" Then he felt a little better.
OK, enough of the 3rd person crap. Yeah, I figured out how to scream sing by screaming to my buddy Trevdawg in the middle of an intense game of lazer tag in which my gun wouldn't fire a single shot, and I ran around like a ninny trying to dodge little lazers. Then I screamed for Trev to come find me... he never did... but I figured out that I was doing in the screamo way so... I CAN DO IT! WHOOP WHOOP!
But wait, there's more! I played the keyboard for worship team and it was incredible amazing (just... my playing... I didn't like the rest). I'm getting more and more compliments on my "rocking out" during the service. I'm playing every Sunday in June, so I'll have plenty more exciting times where that one came from! Also this morning, my youth pastor Dave was preaching (Pastor Kent is out on a vacation). So, I sat right up in the front row with a shirt that reads "EASILY DISTRACTED." He told me later, "I took one look at that thing, then I told myself, 'Dave, do NOT look at that again or you are gonna' lose it, man!'" Thus... my plan to get him to mess up the sermon didn't work the best. Oh well, it was still hilarious anyway! (his preaching...)
Off to bed. I'm seeing X-men 3 in about 10 hours, so I need to get my rest.
I'm out.

- Sing Sing Sing

So... I got to see the Lion King yesterday!  That was a sweet play!!!  I recommend seeing it!!!

Then... I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire w/ my uncle in his "theator" living room (with surround sound, huge speakers, and subwofers!).  That's a freaky movie... kinda' gross with the guy chopping off his arm... and I was sad when Digory died.    That was disappointing... he was cool!  Stupid Valdemort...

Then today, I played the keyboard for church.  And... before 2nd service, I was late getting there, so they played the first song w/o me.  So... I sneak up to the front row during greeting and sit by my mom (who was playing piano today).  "Where were you?!" she scolds.  "Umm... talking to my 'little sister' [Emily] because this is the only time I can and I HAD to talk to her...?"  "Yeah... right!"  Fortunately, the pastor's wife Sue leans over and says, "We missed you during the first song!"  I grin and say, "I was here in spirit!"  She laughs.  I continue, "It's ok... I didn't like that song anyway!"  "Me neither!" says Sue.  "It's over-played!"  So... I felt much better and just smiled at Mom.

Then... I went over to Sam's house where it took us almost an hour to set up Star Wars Battlefront 2 on his downstair's computer.  Then, we hooked up the LAN connection and KABAM!  We battled like crazy!  Fortunately, I ended up winning more.    Oh yes, I like that game.

Then for youth group, I got to lead a song!!!  We sang "My Glorious", which is one of my fav. songs!  Plus, I taught myself how to play bass guitar, so now I've added a new instrument onto my list of stuff.  Let's see... : piano, french horn, guitar, trumpet, recorder, drums (whichever kind), bass.  Next things on my mind: clarinet, trombone, ocarina, tin flute (hehe to the last 2!).

So... that's all for me!  Work tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

Buh-bye!

Another day... and I'm absolutely FREEZING COLD!

And, unfortunately, I'm still sick.  So... I'm back on "sick food" (AKA crackers, banana, and toast) for awhile.

Despite the evil horrors (and the cramping fingers that won't type...), I watched TV today!  (That's a first.)  Well... I actually watched recorded TV... from a long time ago.  And a movie!  And... I'm gonna' finish watching Castaway later (the stupid thing from the video store kept skipping!!!  So... Mom went and bought it!).  I watched a few episodes of Wishbone (haha, that dog is hilarious!), and then I wathced the movie High Society.  It's a HILARIOUS movie with Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra (and Louis Armstrong's in it too!).  I would recommend watching it... if you like to see Frank Sinatra being "drunk".  Ah well...

Despite annoyances with being sick, thankfully I had another good dream last night.  So that makes it bad dreams: 2, good dreams: 3.  Hopefully the good ones will prevail.  Now to see if reality will set in or not...

Well then, I'm off to do who-knows-what!  Buh-bye!

- Our Love Is Here To Stay

So... Spring Break... a time of relaxation and rest... a time to get away from the drolls of school life and get on to a mind-numbing dullness...  Sounds perfect!

Oh wait!  I had set construction on Saturday... that was OK (as K complained that Carl was stealing her job... eh, he kinda' stole mine too, but oh well!).  Then Sunday flies by... short Sunday School lesson and then watching "Cellular" that night at my youth pastor's house.  Not too bad!  And now for sleep...

WAKE UP!  It's the next morning... about 10 to 7... I have to get up to go to work with Dad today (hoorah for construction!... bleh).  However, I don't feel too well, so I go and tell Dad that I need to stay home.  "OK."  Back to bed... for 10 minutes.  Then... I get sick... Good thing I stayed home!  The rest of the day was spent reading books, writing music for Mom, and watching the Red Skelton Show (my fav. comedian!!!).

Then Tuesday... I'm about to get up when, "Go back to bed, there's too much snow."  I smile and close my eyes.  Then at 11:10 (when I'm busy scheduling my lazy afternoon), "Alright, let's go.  We can clear off the snow now."  BAH!  So I shrug on my WARM cloths and trudge to work.  Come home... back to bed.

Wednesday, HARD WORK.  A real 7:30-5:00 day... Then worship team practice from 6:30-9:00.  Then... I'M DEAD TIRED!  My joints are ACHING and I'm about to DIE and I have a SUNBURN (the sun got pretty bright... even though it was freezing cold...).  Now tomorow, I get the morning off, so I can go practice music at church.  Oh well.... that's all for my busy days!

As for night... I had a bad dream on Friday night, and VERY good dream Saturday night, and even BETTER dream Sunday night, and LOTS of good dreams scattered throughout Monday morning, then I don't remember Monday night... then another bad one on Tuesday night.  As for tonight... I'll probably dream... I'm in such a heavy state already, I'm about to fall over right now!!!

I'm outta' here!
